We’re excited to announce the launch of the Alumni Community Fund (ACF). The ACF is a Teach For Australia funding program that provides financial grants to the TFA community for initiatives driven by our Alumni, Associates and Teach to Lead Fellows. The ACF aims to address educational disadvantage. Our mission to ensure that all children, regardless of background, attain an excellent education cannot be achieved without the hard work and dedication of our community.
The funds currently available in the ACF were raised by the Alumni Gala Committee with proceeds from the 2016 Alumni Gala. Teach For Australia is providing assistance with the distribution aspect by administering the Grant Funds.
“The Alumni Community Fund was conceived because the Alumni and Associates involved in the organisation of the Gala wanted to see the funds support Teach For Australia (TFA) community initiatives,” explains Jun Zhang, Alumni Manager.
Associates and Alumni of the Leadership Development program as well as Fellows and Alumni of the Teach To Lead program can apply for funds for initiatives that have a central focus on improving educational outcomes in low SES schools and communities.
A Grants Committee consisting of a group of Alumni representing different cohorts and regions will determine the recipient/s of the Grant Funds.
We’re excited to hear about the ideas our Alumni have and the projects they are working on through their proposals. Applications are now open and will close on September 30, 2017.
You can learn more about what types of proposals may be funded, assessment criteria and how to apply in the Teach For Australia Alumni Community Fund Policy. You can find the ACF Application Form here.
