Teach For Australia is an independent not-for-profit organisation. We work with businesses, universities, the public sector and charities to achieve our ambitious aims. We rely on support in the form of donations, pro-bono services, and program involvement to ensure that we can continue our work to expand educational opportunity and increase academic achievement across Australia.

Universities

Teach For Australia is developing close partnerships with universities around Australia as part of our Associate recruitment and education. Teach For Australia would like to recognise the early support and contued championship of Macquarie University, in particular Vice Chancellor Steven Schwartz. Macquarie-logo

Teach For Australia ensures fantastic training and support for our Associates, as described under The Associate Experience - Training and Support. Formal academic coursework is delivered in partnership with the Melbourne Graduate School of Education, one of Australia's top schools of education. It pioneers a research-informed, clinical approach to teacher education, offering Associates the opportunity to learn from the best.

Through a series of intensive, residential education periods over the two-years, ongoing self-paced study, rigorous assessment and extenisve practical application in the classroom, Associates earn a Postgraduate Diploma of Teaching. After successful completion of the program, our Alumni have the opportunity to extend their studies to gain a Master of Teaching from MGSE. MGSE Full colour

If your university would like to discuss the many ways to become involved with Teach For Australia, please contact Natasha Rees, (Acting) Director of Strategy, Growth and Development on (03) 8640 4523 or Natasha.Rees@teachforaustralia.org.

Schools

Teach For Australia works closely with schools to ensure that Associates are placed in environments where they will achieve the biggest impact. Participating schools must satisfy eligibility criteria, indicating that their involvement in the program will provide a strong benefit to the students they serve and that they will provide the necessary support to enable Associates to achieve.

If you represent a school and would like to register your interest in participating, please contact our Placement Manager at  schools@teachforaustralia.org or call (03) 8640 4500.

Government

Teach For Australia is proud to partner with the Australian Government to help deliver the New Pathway Into Teaching Initiative which forms part of The Smarter Schools National Partnership on Improving Teacher Quality. Through the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) Teach For Australia receives funds to support our work and the inter-governmental aims of the Council of Australian Governments as regards teacher quality.
