Michaela Epstein

Michaela's journey with TFA began in 2012 when she gave up the sea breezes and rolling hills of Sydney to live and teach in Mildura. Since that time, Michaela has taken students on a trip to Tonga as part of a social responsibility project, spoken at education conferences about numeracy programs and mathematical reasoning, coached teachers and worked with students to embrace the language and beauty of mathematics. Fundamental to Michaela's work is the idea that students need to be involved in meaningful and collaborative mathematics, in which a growth mindset is an essential ingredient for success. Currently, Michaela is the Head of Learning at Maths Pathway, a start-up that supports over 130 schools in Australia and internationally to re-imagine maths teaching.
