Our approach
Our immediate objective is to improve student outcomes in areas of educational disadvantage by attracting and supporting graduates to teach in disadvantaged schools for two years. Longer term, we are building a network of committed alumni who are knowledgeable about education and social issues, committed to educational equity and destined to become exceptional leaders in all fields.
To do this we recruit outstanding, well-rounded graduates from all disciplines who have the distinguished academic performance, leadership experience, and communication and empathy skills to succeed in teaching in disadvantaged schools as Teach For Australia Associates. Working in partnership with businesses, universities and the public sector, we provide the infrastructure and expertise to facilitate Associate development through strong, evidence-based training, ongoing support in the classroom and leadership programs, all while focusing intently on improving student outcomes in the classroom.
By attracting more of Australia's outstanding graduates into teaching in disadvantaged schools, Teach For Australia also helps to raise and preserve the status of teaching in Australia.
