TFA announces first Giving Day: Every Child, Every Chance

On Friday 30 October – World Teachers’ Day – Teach For Australia will embark on our very first Giving Day.

Every Child, Every Chance is a 12-hour fundraising sprint that will recognise and celebrate the contribution teachers make to our communities, and aim to raise $100,000 for our mission.

As part of the Giving Day, we have secured a partnership with the Atlassian Foundation. For every donation TFA secures, Atlassian will multiply the pledge – meaning every dollar goes much further. A gift of $10 becomes $40; a gift of $50 becomes $200!

“Teach For Australia’s work is grounded in our mission to recruit and develop exceptional people to teach and lead in schools across Australia, and to grow a community of leaders committed to closing the education disadvantage gap but we can’t do this alone,” TFA CEO Melodie Potts Rosevear said.

“We are so grateful for the generous support Atlassian has extended to TFA’s inaugural Giving Day and we’re excited to bring this new opportunity to our wide network, and beyond, next week to grow awareness of education inequity and Teach For Australia’s work.

“We know teachers have the most powerful impact on students’ learning but not every school has the subject specialists or school leaders their students need and deserve, and that’s where TFA comes in.

“When people support Every Child, Every Chance next week, they will be helping us work towards the vision of an Australia where education gives every child, regardless of background, greater choice for their future.”
