Innovation award for Teach For Australia

Thursday, October 29th, 2020

Teach for Australia was thrilled to be named winner of the Will Spensely Memorial Award for Innovation (Public Sector) at this week’s AAGE Graduate Recruitment Industry Awards.

The award recognised TFA’s innovation in developing a School Taster Experience program, in order to inspire graduates to join our Leadership Development Program.

The Taster Experience ran for the first time in 2019 and saw 75% of participants go on to apply for the LDP this year, with ten receiving an offer to join the program.

TFA was also recognised as a finalist for Most Popular Integrated Marketing Campaign (Public Sector), in partnership with agency TOFU, for the Tell A Different Story campaign which has helped secure amazing recruitment results this year.

And to round out the accolades, Taylor Clark, Teach For Australia’s Recruitment and Advocacy Manager for Victoria, was voted one of Australia’s Top 25 Graduate Recruiters. The Top 25 list is compiled from survey results from some 3000 candidates who have been offered graduate employment with one of AAGE’s member organisations.

The annual AAGE industry awards are voted on by AAGE members, and were announced at the AAGE Annual Virtual Conference which moved online this year, like so many events, due to Covid-19 impacts.

“We had a record number of applications to our Leadership Development Program this year, despite the huge disruption that Covid caused right across Australia,” TFA CEO Melodie Potts Rosevear said.

“Full credit to the innovation and drive of our Recruitment and Marketing and Communications teams, and to everyone across the organisation who supports this critical work of finding the exceptional graduates and career changers who can go on to be exceptional classroom teachers for deserving students.

“In a year that has been so unexpectedly difficult for everyone, TFA is humbled to be recognised by our peers in the graduate recruitment field and we extend our congratulations to the other winners and finalists too.

“We were especially proud as the only not-for-profit organisation among the list of finalists which included some of Australia’s top ranked graduate employers.”
