The placement process

We partner exclusively with schools serving low socioeconomic communities, working in the regions and communities that need the most support.

Teach where you’re needed

We work in regions and communities where Associates can have the most impact, which often leads to once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to live in exciting and diverse regions of Australia.

We currently place in secondary schools in Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory.

Candidates are able to preference by state and/or metropolitan, regional, and/or remote locations –the more flexible the candidate, the more likely we will be able to successfully find a placement. While we are able to sometimes place Associates near where they currently live, for many Associates, school placement requires relocation.

In 2018, 39% of our cohort moved interstate to teach and 56% of our school placements were in a regional or remote area. Working in close collaboration with fellow Associates, teachers, school leaders and the community, participants are generally placed in a cluster within the same school and schools nearby, increasing the opportunity for impact within communities we operate in.

The placement process begins in September and run through until December. We exist to meet schools demand and the majority of placement are confirmed by mid-November. However a small number of Associate’s commence training before their placement is confirmed.

Speak with the Recruitment and Advocacy Manager in your state about what this could mean for you and how we support Associates with relocation.
