Our Alumni are committed to breaking the cycle of disadvantage as school leaders.

The experience of teaching in low socioeconomic communities ingrains in Associates a lifetime commitment to address educational disadvantage. Teach For Australia enables the network of Alumni to continue to collaborate to effect change.

As of 2017, 65 per cent of Alumni remain in teaching, with over half in school leadership roles, including one principal, one campus principal, two acting principals and one acting assistant principal.

Of those not currently teaching, 78 per cent of Alumni plan to return to teaching throughout their career.

Through Teach To Lead, we are accelerating the development of existing leaders within schools serving low socioeconomic communities.

In 2016 we launched Teach To Lead, a program that equips teachers with the skills to successfully navigate the challenging transition from classroom teacher to school leader.

The two-year program is open to all teachers who are in leadership roles at schools serving low socioeconomic communities. 35% of Fellows are working in regional, remote or rural communities.

96 per cent of Fellows indicate that Teach To Lead improved their leadership performance more than any other activity.
