Content Specialist – Remote

About the Position

Grounded in storytelling, this role ensures impactful, high-quality representation of Teach For Australia (TFA) through end-to-end content development and delivery across owned and earned channels. It amplifies TFA’s place in the national conversation, building understanding of TFA as a community of leaders working for educational equity.

Researching and writing compelling brand stories and content in alignment to the organisational Brand, Media and Content Strategies is central to the role. This includes responsibility for the development of proactive brand content for pitching to journalists and publications, regionally and nationally – with PR agency support – and cultivation of meaningful relationships with key industry figures to influence coverage.

Please note: This role has the flexibility to be a part time role ( FTE 0.8) or a full-time position (FTE 1.0)

About You

Essential

  • Relevant professional experience working in a media or communications role for a not for-profit, government or corporate organisation
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, developing effective marketing and media communications
  • Stakeholder management experience

Desirable

  • A bachelor’s degree in PR, Media/Communications or Journalism
  • Experience drafting clear and on-message talking points and key messages, event briefing documents and other content to support marketing and media opportunities
  • Experience in the secondary or tertiary education sector
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector.

Philanthropy Advisor – Remote

About the Position

Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Advisor supports the broader Philanthropy & Partnerships team in the day-to-day coordination and administration of a variety fundraising tasks including prospect research, qualifying opportunities and the end-to-end proposal submission process including timely acquittals to help meet the fundraising objectives of Teach For Australia in line with its strategic plan.

Please note: This is a part time role, FTE 0.8.

About You

Essential

  • At least 5 years of relevant professional fundraising work experience within
    the not-for-profit sector.
  • Bachelor’s level degree in a related field or commensurate work experience.
  • Ability to conduct prospect research and management of the end-to-end grant
    proposal process.
  • Highly organised, with exceptional planning and time management skills to
    achieve objectives or complete projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, prioritise requests,
    manage competing demands, and set work priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Existing relationships with philanthropic funders.
  • Understanding of the secondary and tertiary education sectors.

About the Position

Campus Brand Ambassadors (CBA’s) represent a grass roots approach to recruitment and brand awareness for Teach For Australia’s (TFA) Leadership Develop Program.

You are currently enrolled and completing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline at an Australian university.   • Microsoft office applications (Outlook & Teams primarily)
  • Knowledge and use of multiple social media platforms

Associate

Teach For Australia’s Leadership Development Program
  • Employment type: Full time
  • Applications open in February of each year

About the position

We believe that to achieve systemic change, inspirational leaders are needed in schools, communities, business and government. Through the Leadership Development Program, we recruit outstanding individuals with academic expertise as well as a range of skills and experience to become ‘Associates’ who commit to teach in an educationally disadvantaged school for at least two years.

By the end of the program, you will have earned a nationally accredited Master of Teaching (Secondary) (Professional Practice) degree on scholarship, all the while earning a full salary and benefits for the duration of the program. Learn more about the program here.
