Teach For Australia (TFA) is delighted to have been awarded USD$150,000 (approximately AUD$215,000) from the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, a joint initiative to expand access to quality education for children in more than 200 communities around the world.
As one of only two Australian organisations recognised, Teach For Australia’s CEO, Edwina Dohle, welcomed the support:
“We are proud and grateful to be recognised by the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. Teach For Australia works relentlessly to develop transformational teachers for the classrooms that need them most. With this funding support, we will be able to extend our programs, bringing more exceptional talent into schools and help unlock the potential of thousands of young people across Australia.”
Teach For Australia is a non-profit working to ensure every student has access to an excellent education by developing exceptional teachers and leaders for the schools that need them most.
Across Australia, educational outcomes are still too often impacted by where students live, the school they attend and the resources around them.
The evidence is clear: quality teachers and school leaders have the greatest impact on student outcomes. Teach For Australia’s programs create impactful and resilient educators who are driving change in schools, empowering young people to rewrite their future.
This grant will directly support and expand our flagship Leadership Development Program and our newly launched Undergraduate Teaching Program, which creates a more accessible pathway into teaching for people from regional, First Nations and other diverse backgrounds.
